Vancouver, probably my favourite big city in a foreign country! I was here towards the end of April in 2012. The first couple of days were very sunny, so people urged me to get out and about. Since Vancouver is also known as ‘Raincouver’, I happily obliged and explored this amazing city! I took thisContinueContinue reading “Vangroovy”

Tent with a view
In this post I mentioned the trekking I participated in in Swedish Lapland last August. The landscape was nothing short of impressive! Very rugged, very beautiful. During the trekking, we had to carry all of our equipment and we had to camp. My friend borrowed a sturdy tent from her sister and we slept veryContinueContinue reading “Tent with a view”
Top 10 things to see and do in New Zealand
Everybody that has ever visited New Zealand will probably agree with me that it’s an amazing country. The nature, the space, the people…it’s a special piece of stunning beauty. To those that have never visited the ‘land of the long white cloud’: you are missing out! 😉 I understand that it’s not possible for everyoneContinueContinue reading “Top 10 things to see and do in New Zealand”
A day at the zoo
After I posted my last blogpost, I had a lovely conversation about the beauty of birds. It then progressed to the wisdom you can see in animals’ eyes. The animal kingdom is amazing. It inspired me to post some pictures I took during a visit to Artis (Amsterdam Zoo) last summer, to showcase the beauty and wisdom thatContinueContinue reading “A day at the zoo”
Spread your wings and fly
Another shot taken at beautiful Hopewell Lodge. I can’t get enough of this place and I know I’ll be back there some day! I was enjoying the scenery from the stone ‘jetty’/steps at Hopewell. This shag was sitting on one of the poles, getting ready to take flight. I guess I took a photo of theContinueContinue reading “Spread your wings and fly”
Here’s to happy taste buds!
A good way to explore a country is by trying its food and drink. After all, if there is one thing we all need, it’s something to feed ourselves with. I don’t think New Zealand has a specific ‘haute cuisine’ like they have in France, for example, but the country has amazing foods and drinks.ContinueContinue reading “Here’s to happy taste buds!”
Fjällräven Classic
Last August, a friend and I participated in the Fjällräven Classic, a 110 km trek through the mountains of Swedish Lapland. The organisation by Fjällräven was excellent. The trek ran from Nikkaluokta to Abisko, passing Sweden’s highest mountain: mount Kebnekaise. On the photo you can see the mountain range in the distance. We were having a breakContinueContinue reading “Fjällräven Classic”
Mountain goat
On the last day of my 2012 holiday to Canada, I went to Banff N.P. I booked a very small scale tour and the guide took a couple and myself on an extensive trip through this amazing area! On our way to Lake Minnewanka we saw a few mountain goats by the side of theContinueContinue reading “Mountain goat”
