Here’s to happy taste buds!

A good way to explore a country is by trying its food and drink. After all, if there is one thing we all need, it’s something to feed ourselves with. I don’t think New Zealand has a specific ‘haute cuisine’ like they have in France, for example, but the country has amazing foods and drinks.ContinueContinue reading “Here’s to happy taste buds!”

Fjällräven Classic

Last August, a friend and I participated in the Fjällräven Classic, a 110 km trek through the mountains of Swedish Lapland. The organisation by Fjällräven was excellent. The trek ran from Nikkaluokta to Abisko, passing Sweden’s highest mountain: mount Kebnekaise. On the photo you can see the mountain range in the distance. We were having a breakContinueContinue reading “Fjällräven Classic”

Mountain goat

On the last day of my 2012 holiday to Canada, I went to Banff N.P. I booked a very small scale tour and the guide took a couple and myself on an extensive trip through this amazing area! On our way to Lake Minnewanka we saw a few mountain goats by the side of theContinueContinue reading “Mountain goat”

Paradise

Remember my favourite hostel in New Zealand? Well, here is a photo from Hopewell. Little paradise on earth, if you ask me! The kayaks belong to the hostel. I rented one of those kayaks and had a wonderful but stiff paddle! I went with a roommate, but she didn’t like kayakking at all. She wasn’tContinueContinue reading “Paradise”

The people you meet

When I first travelled to Australia for my Working Holiday, I quickly realised it was a way bigger adventure than I had anticipated. I felt lonely and completely unsure of how to approach my sudden burst of freedom. The first couple of days in Sydney I had spent with a new friend. But when sheContinueContinue reading “The people you meet”

Clouds rolling in

January 2012. I had my mind set on exploring a very remote part of New Zealand: the Catlins. I took a bus trip and decided to spend a few days in Curio Bay. When I arrived, the sun was shining and Hector’s dolphins were swimming in the surf. In the evening we went to lookContinueContinue reading “Clouds rolling in”

Canada goose

In the spring of 2012, I ventured off to Canada. Of the two weeks I had, I spent one week in Vancouver. Way way too short, as I’ve fallen in love with that city and have so much more to explore! On a sunny day I made my way to Stanley Park and saw thisContinueContinue reading “Canada goose”

Grövelsjön

This time I’m posting a photo from Sweden. After a trekking in Lapland, I spent a bit of time travelling around. I decided to go to Grövelsjön, in the beautiful province of Dalarna, Sweden. On the bus to the Mountain Station, we came across a few reindeer! Awesome! During breakfast, I saw a baby reindeer outsideContinueContinue reading “Grövelsjön”
