Paradise

nz_hopewellRemember my favourite hostel in New Zealand? Well, here is a photo from Hopewell. Little paradise on earth, if you ask me! The kayaks belong to the hostel. I rented one of those kayaks and had a wonderful but stiff paddle! I went with a roommate, but she didn’t like kayakking at all. She wasn’t holding back in telling me that either. Uh-oh. Well, I do love kayakking! I absolutely love being on the water, it gives me a sense of freedom. And the fact that it was a beautiful sunny day, absolutely helped me feeling fantastic! I really wish I could go back, I miss this place and its stunning beauty!

  1. A beautiful shot of what is evidently a beautiful place. The orange boats really contrast so well with the greens of the landscape. I agree, there’s nothing quite like being out on the water in a small boat. Your story reminds me of a time many years ago when my husband and I were on holiday. He doesn’t ‘do’ boats but he was happy to sit on the shore while I explored the lake in a little hired rowing boat. My husband said, when at one point I’d rowed off behind a small island, he began to wonder where I had disappeared to, as I was so long in returning! Boating does give such a sense of freedom.

    1. Thank you! It’s a very beautiful place indeed! I have more photos from Hopewell that you might like as well. I’ll sure be posting those as well. 😉
That’s a lovely story. No matter where you go, as long as you come back. It actually sounds really romantic!
Boating really does give a sense of freedom. I also get this sense of freedom from horseriding. It’s like you carry your house or ride with you and you can go wherever. 🙂
