In this post I mentioned the trekking I participated in in Swedish Lapland last August. The landscape was nothing short of impressive! Very rugged, very beautiful. During the trekking, we had to carry all of our equipment and we had to camp. My friend borrowed a sturdy tent from her sister and we slept veryContinueContinue reading “Tent with a view”

Top 10 things to see and do in New Zealand
Everybody that has ever visited New Zealand will probably agree with me that it’s an amazing country. The nature, the space, the people…it’s a special piece of stunning beauty. To those that have never visited the ‘land of the long white cloud’: you are missing out! 😉 I understand that it’s not possible for everyoneContinueContinue reading “Top 10 things to see and do in New Zealand”
Fjällräven Classic
Last August, a friend and I participated in the Fjällräven Classic, a 110 km trek through the mountains of Swedish Lapland. The organisation by Fjällräven was excellent. The trek ran from Nikkaluokta to Abisko, passing Sweden’s highest mountain: mount Kebnekaise. On the photo you can see the mountain range in the distance. We were having a breakContinueContinue reading “Fjällräven Classic”
Paradise
Remember my favourite hostel in New Zealand? Well, here is a photo from Hopewell. Little paradise on earth, if you ask me! The kayaks belong to the hostel. I rented one of those kayaks and had a wonderful but stiff paddle! I went with a roommate, but she didn’t like kayakking at all. She wasn’tContinueContinue reading “Paradise”
Clouds rolling in
January 2012. I had my mind set on exploring a very remote part of New Zealand: the Catlins. I took a bus trip and decided to spend a few days in Curio Bay. When I arrived, the sun was shining and Hector’s dolphins were swimming in the surf. In the evening we went to lookContinueContinue reading “Clouds rolling in”
A beautiful world
One of the things on my bucket list was doing a multiple day trek with a full pack. January 2012, I could tick that off my list: I hiked the Routeburn Track, a 32km trek through Mt. Aspiring N.P. and Fiordland N.P., New Zealand! Most people do the tramp (Kiwi word for a trek) inContinueContinue reading “A beautiful world”
Lake Wakatipu
January 2012. The bus from Tracknet left Queenstown very early in the morning to take a group of excited adventurers to the start of the Routeburn Track on the South Island of New Zealand. It was a windy road and the ride became bumpy when the unsealed road began. The early morning light, the gorgeousContinueContinue reading “Lake Wakatipu”
