Only in New Zealand, right? I mean, in a country with around 60 million sheep, this just had to happen sometime! 🙂 I’d gotten a lift from fellow backpackers and somewhere along the way (I believe it was the Lindiss Pass, but I’m not sure) we got into this huge sheep jam. We had toContinue reading “Sheep jam!”

Yellow-eyed penguin
On an organised trip to the Otago Peninsula, near Dunedin, we went to look at Yellow-eyed penguins coming to shore early in the evening. Yellow-eyed penguins (Maori name ‘Hoiho’) are a rare and endangered species of penguins native to New Zealand. I think they are absolutely amazing and unlike any other penguins I’d seen before.Continue reading “Yellow-eyed penguin”
A day at the zoo
After I posted my last blogpost, I had a lovely conversation about the beauty of birds. It then progressed to the wisdom you can see in animals’ eyes. The animal kingdom is amazing. It inspired me to post some pictures I took during a visit to Artis (Amsterdam Zoo) last summer, to showcase the beauty and wisdom thatContinue reading “A day at the zoo”

Canada goose
In the spring of 2012, I ventured off to Canada. Of the two weeks I had, I spent one week in Vancouver. Way way too short, as I’ve fallen in love with that city and have so much more to explore! On a sunny day I made my way to Stanley Park and saw thisContinue reading “Canada goose”
Grövelsjön
This time I’m posting a photo from Sweden. After a trekking in Lapland, I spent a bit of time travelling around. I decided to go to Grövelsjön, in the beautiful province of Dalarna, Sweden. On the bus to the Mountain Station, we came across a few reindeer! Awesome! During breakfast, I saw a baby reindeer outsideContinue reading “Grövelsjön”
