The Grampians is a mountain area/national park in Victoria, Australia. I visited the national park during a tour along the Great Ocean Road. We hiked for a few hours and about halfway we stopped for a lunch break where we had this amazing view! In the bottom right of the photo you can see some buildings,ContinueContinue reading “The Grampians”

Alpine gaze
Mt. Cook, or Aoraki in Maori, has many different ‘faces’. I posted about it here, here and here, and I still can’t get enough of this amazing, majestic mountain. Whether gazed upon from afar or marvelled at from right under its ‘nose’, I find this place very special. Alpine areas fascinate me, because we don’tContinueContinue reading “Alpine gaze”
Tidal flats
A few more photos from the beautiful island of Vlieland. During my hike the tide was out and these tidal flats were revealed. At other times of the day the boats would be rocking in the water, but now they were parked in the mud flats. It’s quite spectacular to see how many different habitatsContinueContinue reading “Tidal flats”
Hostelling series: experiences
Some people can’t stand the thought of sharing a room with some random stranger, other people love staying in hostels. When I travel, I mostly stay in hostels. It’s generally cheaper and it’s a great way to meet other people. I’ve had great experiences and not so great experiences (like everyone, I’m sure). Sometimes it’sContinueContinue reading “Hostelling series: experiences”
Room with a view
Well, I can’t say I mind a view like this! Setting sun, coloured hazy clouds, what is there not to love?
Is this made of…wooood?
The island of Vlieland, a small island jam-packed with amazing scenery, ranging from beach to dunes to a beautiful forest with soft tracks and heaps of tall trees. It was lovely exploring the forest with no set plan in mind. Just wandering around, enjoying the peace and quiet. When I take photographs, I find compositionContinueContinue reading “Is this made of…wooood?”
Bluff-ing
Nah, I’m just kidding. 🙂 Not bluffing, but definetly looking at the Bluff of Victor Harbor here. In this post, I shared a photo taken from the Bluff looking into the next bay, and now you have one looking at it from the beach. South Australia is a very dry state and this area is noContinueContinue reading “Bluff-ing”
Bit icy…
First time I ever saw a glacier in real life, whether from up close or far away, was in New Zealand. This is the Franz Josef glacier on the rugged and beautiful west coast. Over time, the glacier has receded quite a bit, which isn’t really a good sign, but lucky for me there wasContinueContinue reading “Bit icy…”
