My 10 favourite social media accounts

There’s nothing better than going hiking or on some other outdoor adventure. Breathing in that fresh air and getting those muscles sore is all part of the charm. But sometimes, ‘armchair adventuring’ is nice too. I’m usually plugged into social media and I find it’s a great way to get inspired and perhaps learn a few things. SoContinueContinue reading “My 10 favourite social media accounts”

It’s always going to be like this, isn’t it?

As I write this post, it’s a dull and grey day in December, and we’ve had our first bit of snow. Life happens completely indoors. Ideally, I’d hibernate through to March, haha. I can’t be bothered doing anything other than sit on the couch snuggled up under a blanket while watching Netflix and enjoying a cupContinueContinue reading “It’s always going to be like this, isn’t it?”

Stavneset

My Norwegian adventure continues! My friend and I decided to do a couple of shorter hikes in one day, of which the hike to the Staveneset Lighthouse was the first one. We had absolutely perfect hiking conditions. It was sunny and warm, but not too warm and there was a nice breeze keeping us cool enough.ContinueContinue reading “Stavneset”

Kvalvik Fort

My Norwegian friend and I decided to do some sightseeing and visited Kvalvik Fort, close to Kristiansund. “Kvalvik Fort is one of Norway’s best preserved coastal fortifications from the Second World War. There was also a submarine station here during the war. The fort is still intact and many people spend time exploring the bunker,ContinueContinue reading “Kvalvik Fort”

Skuleberget

I count myself lucky to have friends in different countries. In fact, it’s just plain awesome! One of my friends used to live in Sweden, but has since then moved back to her native Åland and started her own business, which I think is so bad ass! Anyway, back in 2010 I visited her in Sweden. SheContinueContinue reading “Skuleberget”

The answer is blowin’ in the wind

When I biked home from the train station yesterday, there was quite a bit of wind. Autumn has truly arrived now. Temperatures are dropping, days are rapidly getting shorter and paddling against the wind has become a little more challenging than on a cruisy summer’s day. I always struggle with my energy levels during theseContinueContinue reading “The answer is blowin’ in the wind”

Jugendstil and strawberries

Our next destination after Geiranger was Ålesund. We stayed at the Scandic Parken hotel in the city centre, where the view from our room was another stunning one! From our room we could look out over the water and over the Jugendstil buildings. The reason the city centre has this style of houses requires a littleContinueContinue reading “Jugendstil and strawberries”
