True blue

Earlier this year, I posted a picture of Mt. Cook (Aoraki) and the crazy blue Lake Pukaki on a day with a gorgeous clear blue sky. I also made a short video of the lake and the highest mountain in New Zealand that day. I still find it stunning to see water that blue. Amazing! Mt.Continue reading “True blue”

Mrs. Weka

One lovely evening in paradise, aka during my stay at Hopewell, I saw this cute little weka. Weka, also known as Maori hen or woodhen, is a flightless bird species of the rail family (rallidae). I guess it got curious there for a minute! 🙂 Mrs. Weka from TravelSan on Vimeo.

Mr. Penguin

A new category on my blog: videos! I remembered I took various videos during my last travel Down Under and I thought it would be fun to share some of them here. Hope you’ll enjoy the first ‘Mr. Penguin’. 🙂 In Curio Bay, New Zealand, yellow-eyed penguins come to shore every evening around 18.00-18.30 pm.Continue reading “Mr. Penguin”

My big outback adventure

One of the things I really wanted to do while in Australia, was head into the outback. Hokey Pokey

When I first travelled to New Zealand, I didn’t try the hokey pokey icecream. I don’t know what I thought it was, but I wasn’t having it. Since then, I’ve gotten this thing for trying out local stuff. You know, it’s a way to really get to know a country. I was already familiar with,Continue reading “Hokey Pokey”

Three things people don’t tell you

When talking about backpacking, chances are you’ll be hearing stories about how amazing it was, how travelling gives you so much freedom, how awesome it is to meet new people etc. Sounds about right? Well, all of those things are true, but there are three things people don’t tell you about backpacking. 1. Arranging stuffContinue reading “Three things people don’t tell you”

The Bucket List

A bucket list is a list of things someone wants to do before they die a.k.a. before they ‘kick the bucket’. Life can pass by so quickly and before we know it, we’re old and full of regrets. It’s so easy to get swallowed by the treadmill of life where you work, eat, sleep, pay bills andContinue reading “The Bucket List”

I’m going on an adventure!

‘I’m going on an adventure‘ is seriously the first thing that comes to mind when I know I’ll be travelling again. I love travelling and I love planning for my travels. I pretty much never go on an ‘organised three week holiday’, simply because travelling for me means venturing off into the unknown and discoveringContinue reading “I’m going on an adventure!”
