During my week on Stewart Island I stayed at the wonderful BBH hostel Bunkers Backpackers. It was a really cosy place with friendly people and an awesome atmosphere. It’s quickly become one of my favourite hostels in New Zealand and I highly recommend it! Every once in a while one or two kaka birds would pay theContinueContinue reading “Resident kaka”

Magnolia
As I walked to Stanley Park, I was drawn to this beautiful magnolia tree I saw along the way. I loved how the sunlight hit the petals, bringing out that vibrant pink. I love light, and the contrast and effect it creates. The flowers smelled lovely too, so that wasn’t much of a hardship either.
Someone’s backyard
Could you imagine having this as your ‘backyard’? You hop in your boat and you can go just about…anywhere! Surrounded by lots of trees and water (and I’m sure mosquitoes too!), what a beautiful place to live! It’s surely something else than my balcony made of concrete, even though I enjoy sitting there too 😉
Sunny Vancouver

Over the hills and far away
This photo is from just outside Takaka, a small town in sunny Golden Bay. I especially love the layers in this photo. The fence, the grass, the crops, the trees and the mountains. Even the clouds pitch in to paint a pretty picture! 😉
Through the looking glass
Naturally I went up the look-out tower to get an amazing view over Vancouver. I love how close city and nature are here. I bet it must be great to only have to drive a short while to be smack dab in the middle of forests and mountains. I took these photos through the glassContinueContinue reading “Through the looking glass”
Life’s peachy
Sunny days in Vancouver surely exist! I was treated to some gorgeous days, on which I went out to enjoy the city and its surroundings. On my way to Stanley Park, these beautiful, peachy coloured flowers grabbed my attention. Life sure is great when you get to spend your day enjoying nature.
Stones in the water
Another one of my favourite photos from my two-day hike along the Vasaloppsleden trail. I especially love the contrast between the brown stones in the water and all those green surroundings. Sweden is such a beautiful country!
