It was the summer of 2009, I was working hard on my thesis and about to graduate from uni. I was full of hopes and dreams of having a career in archaeology. ‘Via via’ I was able to join in on a survey on the river Meuse for a few days, because ‘you never know, you mightContinueContinue reading “Survey on the river Meuse”

Contrasts
I love how light works; it illuminates, casts shadows and creates contrast. That’s what I like about this shot: the contrast between the different elements, the sun hitting the branches of this bare tree and creating shadows in other places. Add to that the beautiful clear blue sky, and I’m happy! 😉
Subtle
Walking along an unsealed road near beautiful Hopewell, my eye caught this beautiful flower. The sun hit the petals, casting subtle lights and shadows.
Afternoon sail
Sailing is one of my favourite ways to spend a beautiful sunny afternoon. I love being on the water, or in the water. Always have. Sea of flowers
Just a sea of flowers casually waving in the wind. In this photo, I love the diagonal composition and the contrast between the green and the orangy yellow. I have no clue what kind of flowers these are. Can someone enlighten me?
Jonathan?
I know seagulls aren’t particularly exotic birds and they seem to be just about everywhere. Still, I felt like posting this photo because I just love the ridiculously blue sky as a contrast to the bird’s white feathers. I also love the expression on its face. Jonathan, is that you?
A walk on the beach
Collingwood is a small town in the northwest of the South Island of New Zealand. The Golden Bay area is known for its laid-back atmosphere and Collingwood is no exception. The town knows only a few streets and a few shops, so it doesn’t take long to explore. Being right on the beach, I simply hadContinueContinue reading “A walk on the beach”
