Lake Tekapo is known for its bright turquoise waters. Seeing it in a muted state, pretty much like a ‘regular lake’ was something different. I like seeing a different face of this place. This milky grey lake is glacially fed by the Hooker glacier, which you can see in the background of this photo. I love how muted and almost monochrome the colours are. The many hues of Lake Pukaki
Lake Pukaki is a lake with ever changing colours. I’ve seen it in a really bright milky blue, an almost neon turquoise, and now in a deep medium blue with dark spots where clouds cast their shadows. This is one of those lakes that will look different every time you see it. I love it!
Trail marker
Whoever’s gone out hiking will have seen cairns: stacks of stones to mark a trail. I love the way they look and the function they have. People seem to also make cairns for fun. Over the hills and far away
