On a Sunday afternoon

Here are some photos of a nice Sunday walk on the beach. I just love breathing in the salty air and feeling the wind on my face. The weather was absolutely beautiful! Add to that great company and a nice breeze, and you have a wonderful day!

And it was all yellow

Just some pretty daisies at the green patch around the Cabo da Roca monument. There were heaps of flowers and it made for a nice, sunny contrast to the muted grey sky. The yellow is so cheerful!

Steep

The view from Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe, was one of the highlights of my Portugal trip. The cliffs are very rugged and steep, and the view is amazing!!For some reason, I found it special to be at the very edge of Europe, and it looking this pretty is a total bonus.

Ominous

The sky over Sintra looked very moody and ominous, as if at any second a storm could break loose. While we had a few drops here and there, luckily the major rain stayed away. The threatening sky sure made for a cool photo though!

Views from the Afsluitdijk

Last Saturday, we went to Assen to go to the Maya Exhibit at the Drents Museum. This is one of my absolute favourite musea in the country, due to its amazing archaeology collection including the Pesse canoe (oldest boat in the world) and the Yde Girl (Iron Age bog body of a 16-year-old girl). Zig zag

The composition of this photo is all about the zig zags! I love the layers, the shapes, the colours, the contrast of the yellow with the blue yet cloudy sky. Such a gorgeous and inspirational place!

Pretty in pink

Just some pretty pink flowers on the property of Onuku Farm Hostel in Akaroa on the South Island of New Zealand (just a few hours from Christchurch).
