Devils Punchbowl Falls

On my 2012 travels to New Zealand I went to Arthur’s Pass by train. I decided to stay in this very small town for a few days just to check it out. It was a nice place, but not as ‘end of the world’ as I had expected it to be. Perhaps it was theContinueContinue reading “Devils Punchbowl Falls”

Lines

After the sandboarding, our tourguide took the big bus onto the sand to drive us along 90-mile beach. It’s pretty cool riding on the beach (I experienced it once before on Fraser Island, Australia). I love seascapes, the vastness, the emptiness. In this shot, I particularly like the composition and the horizontal lines all over.

I took this photo on the Waitangi Treaty GroundsContinueContinue reading “Waitangi Day”

Just a regular NZ beach

While I love walking on the beach in my home country, it really is a different experience from walking on a beach in New Zealand. Both are beautiful, don’t get me wrong. But there’s something about New Zealand beaches that I really love. And this photo is just a regular beach in Northland. The coloursContinueContinue reading “Just a regular NZ beach”

Standing tall

Such an awesome piece of coast. The water was so rugged that my friend and I couldn’t take the ferry to Kapiti Island and explore this, from what I’ve heard, amazing bird sanctuay island. Due to rough weather, the ferry was cancelled. Instead, we had a wander along the coast, where I saw these amazing,ContinueContinue reading “Standing tall”
