While I love walking on the beach in my home country, it really is a different experience from walking on a beach in New Zealand. Both are beautiful, don’t get me wrong. But there’s something about New Zealand beaches that I really love. And this photo is just a regular beach in Northland. The colours are so different, the view is so different, it smells differently. It’s a whole different experience, perhaps aided by the far less amounts of people there! I don’t go and walk on the beach that often here (I should make an effort to change that), but having grown up near the coast, I’ve got a soft spot for wide open spaces and salty air. It just opens up my senses and it makes me feel alive.
What makes you feel alive? Walking on a beach, a hike through the forest perhaps? Or maybe something else?
It’s beautiful, but I bet the water was chilly!

I didn’t go in, so I don’t know, haha! But knowing the Tasman Sea, I’d say yes, rather chilly 😉

I love walking on the beach, on a wet sand
