Well, I can’t say I mind a view like this! Setting sun, coloured hazy clouds, what is there not to love?
The island of Vlieland, a small island jam-packed with amazing scenery, ranging from beach to dunes to a beautiful forest with soft tracks and heaps of tall trees. It was lovely exploring the forest with no set plan in mind. Just wandering around, enjoying the peace and quiet. When I take photographs, I find compositionContinue reading “Is this made of…wooood?”
Dramatic skies, I love them! Sunday early in the evening on an August day, the island of Vlieland beckoned us for a visit to the beach. The others went for a swim, I took in this majestic interplay of clouds, colour and light. In the distance you can see some rain showers pouring down. Luckily,Continue reading “Come closer”
The Dutch coast, a big sandbox bathing in sunlight. It’s such a nice area to soak up some salty air and feel the wind in your face. On my first hike on the island, I first saw two very cute donkeys who were grazing on a field near the lighthouse. I satContinue reading “Island ingredients: donkeys, horses, goats and seagulls”
I love harbours. I don’t know what it is, but I love the rows of boats, the sense of adventure, the water’s edge. I wish I could hop on a boat and sail away on an adventure! During my weekend away on the Dutch island of Vlieland, I walked around the harbour area and enjoyed theContinue reading “Water’s edge”
It only makes sense that there are so many seagulls on an island. While they’re not my favourite birds, they are simply part of any coastal area in the country. Many were having a rest on shore near the helicopter platform. Perhaps taking a break from flying into strong winds? 😉
