It’s kind of ridiculous how many photos I took during our hike through this part of the Jura. The area is so photogenic and it really inspired me. It was a relaxed atmosphere with a dear friend and the weather was nothing short of sublime. We met some other hikers along the way, but hardlyContinueContinue reading “Follow the grey gravel road”

Chalice
In this photo I love how the sun strokes the chalices of these flowers. You can see the little hairs and many different hues of purple. So pretty!
Berries
Mostly, I take photos of landscapes. I love space, composition, contrast and a certain ‘balance’ or ‘feel’ in a photo. But I’ve also gotten interested in taking more ‘macro type’ photos. My camera lens take quite nice photos of items closer up, but is by no means a lens specifically for macro photography. I doesn’t have toContinueContinue reading “Berries”
A myriad of green
Sticking with hiking in the French Jura, we came across this abundance of lush, green vegetation. It reminded me of hiking in Canada or New Zealand. It looks similar, but feels different and most of all looks beautiful!
Introduction to the Jura
Last August I visited a friend in France. We don’t get to see eachother often, usually only during a charity event we both attend. I decided it was time to change that! Since she’d already visited me once a few years before, I decided it was my turn to visit her. So there I went,ContinueContinue reading “Introduction to the Jura”
No Man’s Land
Hirst is an alcoholic upper-class litterateur who lives in a grand house presumed to be in Hampstead, with Foster and Briggs, respectively his purported amanuensis and man servant (or apparent bodyguard), who may be lovers. Spooner, a “failed, down-at-heel poet” whom Hirst has “picked up in a Hampstead pub” and invited home for a drink,ContinueContinue reading “No Man’s Land”
Tap dancing on a high wire
Hello, hello! It’s been a little while since my last post. I’m so sorry about that. Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere, nor am I going to apologise every time I post a bit later. 🙂 It’s just that this year was a bit of a roller coaster. In a good way, but a roller coasterContinueContinue reading “Tap dancing on a high wire”
Captain Peacock
When we were at the Castelo de São Jorge, we soon encountered two male peacocks. Well, first we heard them and then we saw them. I absolutely can’t stand the sound that peacocks make. It’s like a cat being strangled, so awful! The two guys were dancing around each other. At the time, we didn’tContinueContinue reading “Captain Peacock”
