Day three started out really nicely. The view from my tent wasn’t half bad. 🙂 It was chilly but the sun was out, and I was excited to continue hiking. I can’t even remember how early I woke up, but I remember starting to hike around 8.30-9 am. I knew this stretch of the trailContinueContinue reading “Acceptance”

Arriving at Singi
It’s about 15 km between Kebnekaise and Singi and it took me a good 7 hours orso to get to the second checkpoint. Once checked in at Singi checkpoint, I got my snack of souvas and mashed potatoes. Nomm! I found myself a quiet spot to pitch my tent. It was windy when I setContinueContinue reading “Arriving at Singi”
And just like that…
…the sun came back! After literally being chilled down by rain and wind, it sure was so nice to feel the warmth of the sun on my skin again. And also to see beautiful contrasts in colours appear like on this photo. No matter how tired I was at the time, this sure brought aContinueContinue reading “And just like that…”
Snow dotted mountains
The weather was a lot colder and more changeable than during my first attempt to hike the Fjällräven Classic. This time there was more snow on the mountains and heaps lower on those mountains as well. Makes for a pretty picture to see the snow dotted about, and just as long as I don’t have toContinueContinue reading “Snow dotted mountains”
And the sky is grey
After the downpour of rain on the second day of my Fjällräven Classic adventure, the sky stayed grey for a while. Still gorgeous landscape to trek through! With the sun gone, it was quite chilly, so it was best to just keep moving to stay warm!
At the start in Nikkaluokta
Friday August 11th starting at 6.30 am busses were running from Camp Ripan in Kiruna to the start of the Fjällräven Classic in Nikkaluokta. There was quite a long queue and I had to wait probably a good hour before I could get on a bus. It was fine, there was still plenty of time andContinueContinue reading “At the start in Nikkaluokta”
Unfinished business
Last month, I attempted to hike the Fjällräven Classic in Swedish Lapland again. My first try was in 2013, and leaving the trail then left me devastated and defeated. Too much was riding on the trek then and what was meant as a positive experience, a boost of life, ended up weighing me down. SinceContinueContinue reading “Unfinished business”
Composition
The composition of this photo caught my eye. The greyish brown rocky layers in front, the greyish water behind that, a sliver of dark greyish blue to represent mountains that almost disappear in the thick cloud cover, and two black stripes for ships as almost specs on the horizon. Can you tell I love a layeredContinueContinue reading “Composition”
