As we were walking from the Torre de Belém to the Monasteiro dos Jerónimos, we walked across a grass field with heaps of these cute and brightly coloured Spanish daisies. So pretty!

Rolling in the deep
On that same first day in Lisbon, when we went to Belém, the weather was rather overcast. It cleared up beautifully later in the day, but at first it looked something like in this photo. While it has mostly grey tones, I feel that those big ominous clouds give the photo that little bit of *oompf*. IContinueContinue reading “Rolling in the deep”
Punga
There’s something about ferns that I really like. Always have, ever since I was a little kid. This is a picture of a few punga or fern trees. I love how they stand so tall and contrast beautifully with the clear blue sky.
South Island
The ferry ride from Wellington to Picton is pretty darn spectacular. The scenery is absolutely stunning. Also being so close to setting foot on that beloved South Island again makes me giddy. Both the North and South Islands are beautiful and I highly recommend visiting both islands. I just can’t help having fallen in love withContinueContinue reading “South Island”
We don’t need to know the way home
Just because I love dunes so much, I’m sharing two more photos from the Cape Reinga area where we had the opportunity to go sandboarding (which I didn’t do, thanks to pneumonia). This was on the way to 90-mile beach. Such a pretty area!
Hover
This is such a weird photo! I was walking to town from my hostel in Queenstown when I saw these huge clouds hovering the Remarkables. With a bit of imagination it looks a bit like an alien spaceship, huge as it is! 😛 I love cloudy skies. A lot. Usually something interesting happens with theContinueContinue reading “Hover”
Red hut
I’m not the person that stages photos (I’m the worst when it comes to taking ‘people photos’) When I take photos, pretty much always *something* catches my eye. For example, an object, some kind of contrast, beautiful sky, lighting or a composition; it can be anything. If I keep going back to it, I knowContinueContinue reading “Red hut”
Tranzalpine to Arthur’s Pass
The Tranzalpine is a beautiful trainride that runs from Christchurch to Greymouth and vice versa. The scenery along the way is breathtaking! From foothills to braided rivers and from lush vegetation to snow capped mountains. It seems like Kiwis love talking about their beautiful country, so don’t be surprised when a bus or train driver givesContinueContinue reading “Tranzalpine to Arthur’s Pass”
