Stones in the water

Another one of my favourite photos from my two-day hike along the Vasaloppsleden trail. I especially love the contrast between the brown stones in the water and all those green surroundings. Sweden is such a beautiful country!

Hunneschans

In 2008, a friend and I visited a beautiful area in the eastern part of the Netherlands. It’s called the Hunneschans, which used to be a Medieval fortified structure by the Uddelermeer. Rise and shine!

In October/November 2009, I worked on an archaeological excavation. Getting to the digging site from home took a few hours and to beat the rush hour, we had to be on the highway by 6 am. Camp with a view

We stayed in the beautiful province of Dalarna in a tiny place called Venjan. My absolute highlight of the week was a two-day, 36 km hike along the Vasaloppsleden trail. It was beautiful!ContinueContinue reading “Camp with a view”

I was full of hopes and dreams of having a career in archaeology. ‘Via via’ I was able to join in on a survey on the river Meuse for a few days, because ‘you never know, you mightContinueContinue reading “Survey on the river Meuse”

Afternoon sail

Sailing is one of my favourite ways to spend a beautiful sunny afternoon. I love being on the water, or in the water. Always have. I’m not a good swimmer, but I still feel like some sort of ‘water rat’. The salty air, the wind in my face, the possibility to go everywhere is soContinueContinue reading “Afternoon sail”
