It’s time to let the cat out of the bag: I’m going back to New Zealand! 🙂 I couldn’t be happier knowing I’m going to travel through this amazing country again! It will be my third time in this beautiful land of the long white cloud. I think I had a pretty good deal with my plane ticket, considering I’m flying with Singapore Airlines, a well known and very good airline (that I just haven’t travelled with before, lol) and it’s a mighty long way to go!
I’ve had plenty of time to think about where I want to go and it looks like everything will fit into the time I’m there, without getting the feeling that I’m rushing from one place to the next. I have plenty of destinations in my self made itinerary, that contains both old and new places. I’m flying into Auckland and back out of Christchurch. I’m staying as little time as possible in these metropoles, because there is so much more to explore than big cities! I plan to do lots of hiking…excuse me…tramping, relaxing, hopefully some kayaking and yes, also some horse riding! Here’s a rough list of what I’m going to do.
- Paihia, Northland, with a trip to Cape Reinga
- Visiting a friend on the Kapiti Coast
- Marlborough Sounds, back to Hopewell!
- Golden Bay
- Nelson
- Mount Cook Village
- Four-day horsetrek in Glenorchy area
- Three day Rakirua Track on Stewart Island
When I’m out there, I’ll try to adhere to my posting schedule of twice a week (Tuesday and Saturday). Unfortunately, I don’t know how internet access will be, so I can’t predict how that’s going to go when I’m there. It may also take a little longer for me to reply to comments. I will do my best in keeping the posts coming so that you can read about my adventures from the comforts of your own couch! 🙂
OH Wonderful! I bet you can hardly wait! I will certainly look forward to being an armchair travel companion on this trip 😀

I’m so excited! It’s wonderful to be back! Unfortunately I’m still sick, which is a bummer, but I’m doing the best that I can. NZ feels wonderfully familiar. 🙂

Yep, sadly so. Luckily, my stay at Hopewell has done wonders and I think I can say I nearly beat this thing. Knock on wood… 😛

I’m surely working on it. 😉 I went to the doctor’s in Takaka and my right lung is inflamed. She said ‘kind of like pneumonia’ but as I gathered, not as bad as that. Lots of muck in my lungs. I’m currently on antibiotics and I’m already feeling heaps better. I can even do my horsetrek and trekking! 🙂
I will probably spend a whole post (or a few, lol) on Hopewell. it’s such a special place and I miss it a lot. The Marlborough Sounds is definitely my favourite area in New Zealand. 🙂

HA! I bet there will be lots for you to share from Hopewell and the Marlborough Sounds. Hope you can keep on trekking! … and best wishes for a speedy recovery 🙂
