A day of waterfalls

Day 3 of our Icelandic adventure started with a visit to Seljalandsfoss. What’s cool about this waterfall is that you can walk behind it! I’ve always wanted to do that! 🙂

After this waterfall, we went to a nearby waterfall: Gljúfrabúi, which means ‘canyon dweller’. It was a challenge getting through the canyon over slippery rocks and past slippery overhanging rocks. But people helped eachother out in taking the steps towards the gorgeous waterfall!

Our third waterfall of the day was the beautiful Skógafoss. A touristy place, but it’s understandable that it’s become popular. While the weather in Iceland tends to be moody, we got treated to some sunshine wile at Skógafoss. Combine that with the splashing water of the waterfall, and magic happens in the form of a bright rainbow! It was so cool.
