Alpine gaze

mt.cook3

Mt. Cook, or Aoraki in Maori, has many different ‘faces’. I posted about it here, here and here, and I still can’t get enough of this amazing, majestic mountain. Whether gazed upon from afar or marvelled at from right under its ‘nose’, I find this place very special. Alpine areas fascinate me, because we don’t have it in the Netherlands (we have nothing that comes close to a mountain, haha) and because  it’s such an unfamiliar environment for me. I love it! I love the different colours, that are seemingly more muted but still bright and beautiful. I hope to go tramping in this area one day, just to see more of ‘the cloud piercer’ and this beautiful area.
