Fun with flags

For some reason I always try to get at least a few photos of the flag of the country I’m in when I travel. It took me a while to get a few good shots of this one. I mean, the wind helped and didn’t help 😛 I especially like the contrasts of colours: the boldContinueContinue reading “Fun with flags”

Castelo de São Jorge

Now that the weather is getting colder in the Netherlands and Autumn has truly arrived, it doesn’t take much for me to reminisce and enjoy the memories of my spring trip to Lisbon last April. Boca do Inferno

Boca do Inferno is Portugese for Hell Mouth. Sounds like a nice place to visit, eh? 😉 It’s pretty much a deep chasm where the seawater crashes onto the rocky cliffs, creating striking water shows! I really enjoyed this place, even though it was just a short stop on our pretty packed day tour!

On a Sunday afternoon

Here are some photos of a nice Sunday walk on the beach. I just love breathing in the salty air and feeling the wind on my face. The weather was absolutely beautiful! Add to that great company and a nice breeze, and you have a wonderful day!

Steep

The view from Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe, was one of the highlights of my Portugal trip.  The cliffs are very rugged and steep, and the view is amazing!!For some reason, I found it special to be at the very edge of Europe, and it looking this pretty is a total bonus.

Cabo da Roca

Cabo da Roca is the westernmost point of continental Europe. We made a quick stop here on our day tour. It was quite windy and the sky was still as moody as it had been most of the day. But I didn’t mind. I really enjoyed Cabo da Roca: the view, the ruggedness, water crashing onContinueContinue reading “Cabo da Roca”
