After our dinner at the Coal Miners’ Bar & Grill we went out for some more northern lights hunting. This is outside Longyearbyen, near the airport (which you can see a part of in the lower left corner of the photo). After many blurry shots in attempting to capture the gorgeous northern lights, I wasContinueContinue reading “Northern lights hunting”

Snow scooter tour
The second full day in Longyearbyen, Spitsbergen, we went on a snow scooter tour! Initially, I had wanted to drive a snow scooter myself and I was booked in for the full day. Late morning

Early last summer, I had booked a Northern Lights tour to Sommarøy -near Tromsø, Norway- and Longyearbyen, Spitsbergen (or: Svalbard). I had booked this trip even before I went to Iceland at the end of lastContinueContinue reading “Arctic adventures commence!”
Effects of the winter sun
I took this photo last Christmas, when I was out for a stroll with my mom. I love the bright light hitting the trees. And that bright blue sky contrasts with the wood of the trees so nicely.
