What heals you, brings you back into balance, makes you feel whole and wholesome?
This is what Arête over at the Aroused blog is asking us this week. It’s a profound question to which there is a myriad of answers. Not only between individuals, but also within one person, depending on the situation and the needs therein.
For me, ingredients for a balanced self, are (in no particular order):
- authentic relationships
- heartfelt conversations
- social interaction
- alone time
- a creative outlet
- exercise
- nature
- travel
Some of these are hard to come by, now that there’s a pandemic going on. Since we’ll be in it for the long haul, I think it’s important to keep on keeping on. Everybody is a bit out of balance these days and we’re all doing our best to navigate this new world. I think I need to grow more of what I’ve learned is a key ingredient for keeping my balance: being kind to myself.
absolutely brilliant post, so much wisdom here and it resonates deeply with me!
Much thanks for participating and hope many read this 🙂

So true.. I live alone so for me going into work is key.. I would hate to work from home.. Work brings that social balance. I agree with all the rest.. 😉

Work indeed brings social balance. I miss my colleagues. We have to work from home due to Covid and usually only see eachother via screens. It’s a strange world.

My balance is throughout the month, while I’m house sitting there is lots of me time and painting, but no social aspect apart from virtual and when I’m traveling and camping it’s all social and exercising and limited painting.
