On my second day on Åland, my friend and I went north, to Geta. There we hiked through the beautiful area. Very versatile, rocky at places, smooth hiking in others, big boulders, and with gorgeous views. It was a very warm day. Armed with water, sunscreen and sunglasses, we made it back just fine.
This is an area my friend has visited frequently with her family since she was a child. I love getting a peek into someone’s past like this. I can totally understand how lovely it is to grow up with beautiful nature like this in your backyard!
What an interesting landscape. I love the coloured rocks.

Very fascinating! It does look like a lava flow but it actually isn’t lava. It’s Rapakivi granite that was smoothed out by glaciers. So cool!
