Plimmerton

Our destination after Rotorua was Plimmerton, a small town on the Kapiti Coast. We stayed at Moana Lodge, a place we really enjoyed. Plimmerton showed various sides of itself: from overcast and a bit windy to a most beautiful sunset. We loved it! We also loved the kiwi Christmas decorations in the hostel and the decorated Christmas tree sporting a beautiful sunset behind it.

We had had a bit of a wait when we arrived. We rang the bell, thinking the owner would come and check us in. And we waited. And waited. Then a friendly fellow guest offered to call the owner, because he said it was unlike him. At it was! Problem was that the batteries in the docking station of his phone had run out, so he never heard us. There was no bad intention there, just an empty battery, haha. But everything turned out alright, and we very much enjoyed our time at Moana Lodge.

We took a train to Wellington and spent some time at the Te Papa Museum, a must do when you’re in New Zealand!

    1. Sure is! The hostel owner was great, very helpful and knows how to run a business. Al in a great place to stay with a great atmosphere!
And I agree with you, aren’t those sea/oceanside places the best? 🙂
