Tap dancing on a high wire

Hello, hello! It’s been a little while since my last post. I’m so sorry about that. Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere, nor am I going to apologise every time I post a bit later. 🙂 It’s just that this year was a bit of a roller coaster. In a good way, but a roller coaster nonetheless. The big change being my job. I started a new job September last year and all through 2016 I’ve had so much to learn. It was amazing, intense and obviously time consuming. I’ve grown a lot personally and professionally. I found it quite hard to balance my hobbies, such as this blog, and working full-time. And when dealing with limited time and energy, I’ve just had to go for my job since that’s my present and future. This coming Monday, I’m starting a new job again. Same organisation, different department. I’m so excited and very much looking forward to sinking my teeth into this new challenge. I’ve worked so hard to get here and I’m also very grateful for having this opportunity! But it also means a new balancing act, like I’m tap dancing on a high wire. I’m sure I’ll get the hang of a new rhythm soon enough. 🙂

What does this mean for my blog? Ehm…not that much! I’m still here and very much enjoying blogging, sharing my photos and interacting with you guys! Writing this blog post made me realise even more how much I missed it. My reason for blogging hasn’t changed and I’m loving it as much as when I started my blog three years ago (I can’t believe I’ve been blogging for three years. Amazing!). It’s just that I need to devise a better system for keeping the content coming regularly! (if you have any tips, please let me know). I’m thinking of posting once a week, also depending on my photos, and go from there. What do you think?

I have more photos and tales in store! Last August I went to France to visit a friend and in October I went on a boating day trip with two friends. I’ve got some really nice photos from that! In fact, I’ll post two photos of a beautiful flower I took in the Jura in France down below. Next year, I have no travels all set in stone. There might be an awesome adventure coming up in the summer, but I’ll first have to see how that pans out. A trip to New Zealand might be happening in 2018, but that plan too needs some time to cook. 😉

Thank you so much for sticking around! I hope that 2017 will be amazing for all!

xoxo, San

  1. San!!!! We have to set a date and try to hike through the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen park in 2017 to forget about our one and only previous attempt in which we were totally blown away by a storm before we even entered the park, but we *did* spot two fallow deer. 😛 Are you game? 😉

    1. Absolutely it does get in the way of things. I suppose working is just part of the deal, haha. I think I’m lucky to have a job I like. Although working costs a lot of time and energy, I find that I get something out of it too. Good to know posting once a week is what you deem enough. I think it’s a good frequency for me too. 😉

      1. I’m in Australia and we have an hour of 2016 still to go! I’m on holiday in Melbourne this week and we’re staying in the city so we’re planning to leave our accommodation just before midnight and join the crowd in the street and then head back inside after the fireworks.
