A day in Stockholm

It was time to -sort of- say goodbye to my friend and her husband. They needed to go back to work and I was going to visit another friend. But first, I had a day and a night in Stockholm.

I arrived early in the morning. Luckily, I could already check into my hotel room, which was so nice, because it had been an early start. I’d never stayed in a hotel room with no window before! But it was the cheapest I could find that was in a good hotel (Scandic Continental) at a central location (near the central station), so I went for it. The room was fine, just dark.

After a rest in my room, I went to Gamla Stan, tourist central, but also an area with cute narrow streets. I treated myself to a waffle with ice cream and strawberries! I couldn’t even finish the huge amount of ice cream, haha. I wandered around town a bit and did some shopping, but I didn’t do anything spectacular, as my visit to Stockholm was brief and an ‘in between’ kind of place (I’ve been to Stockholm before, so it was fine).

In the evening, my friend, her husband and I met up for dinner. It was so nice, but it also meant that after dinner we really had to say goodbye. In any case, it was a lovely way to end a great visit with wonderful people!
