On our way back from Birka, we stopped by an archaeological site called Stora Rickebyhällen. In the stone, various figures and shapes were carved. Amazing to see how they’re still visible after so many years. Granted, all the engravings are coloured in in recent times, but that doesn’t diminish its value one bit. I find it fascinating! And to think this location used to be by the water! Crazy to realise how much higher the water line was in Bronze Age Sweden.

I do think there are cycles of heat and freeze.. always has been.. So interesting when you can actually understand the water cycles.. 😉
