Love you more

Our New Zealand adventure was sadly coming to an end. From Dunedin, we only had to get to Christchurch so we could take our flight home the next day. Because it was on the way, we stopped to marvel at the Moeraki Boulders. I’ve wanted to see them for a long time, but never had the opportunity before. Now that we had a car and could go wherever, whenever, we decided to have a look. We loved it! The phenomenon of these huge boulders is interesting enough, but the location and the stunning views from the beach are equally as interesting! I’m so happy I finally got to go there.

Afterwards, of course I had to have myself a Fruju L&P! ❤

The time had come to clean up our rental car. It’s an option to have the rental company do it for you, but that’s ridiculously expensive! We stopped at a gas station with car wash in Ashburton, not too far from Christchurch. Mom ran it through the wash and then we filled up the tank with petrol, all ready to return the car we’d come to enjoy travelling in! Of course I couldn’t resist to have a Hokey Pokey ice cream for one last time before I had to go without until my next visit to good ‘ol NZ. We returned our rental car, settled into our hotel room near the airport, ready to fly out the next day. We’ve had pretty good weather through most of our time in New Zealand, but that last day it was pouring! Great timing, I’d say. At the same time, it was representative of how I was feeling having to leave this magical place once again.

My mom and I had an amazing time exploring New Zealand together. My mom’s never been into long holidays, so it was great to hear and see how much she enjoyed this adventure together. And if we could’ve, she would’ve loved to have stayed for a bit longer too! We’ve always been close, but we’ve become even closer now that we share memories of NZ. Or in the words of my wonderful mom: I didn’t know it was possible to love you more than I already do.

Thanks for arm chair travelling with us as we roamed beautiful Aotearoa! <3.
