Driving the South Island of New Zealand is often something like this. Generally, there’s less traffic than on the North Island. I don’t mind!

Any road is better with no other cars. Your shot reminds me of driving out west, here in the US. Going through Montana, Idaho, or Washington, it’s possible to go for hours without seeing another human. It’s awesome. 😃
