Ex post facto

In retrospect, what has travelling taught me so far?

  1. I know who I am when I travel. And I like it.
  2. Nature is like water. I thrive in it.
  3. I can be Dutch, European and a world citizen at different times and all at the same time.
  4. There is no rush in the mountains.
  5. It’s possible to be completely relaxed and content.
  6. Don’t assume. Just ask and be curious.
  7. Even when I’m travelling, I don’t have to like everybody. Vibe with your tribe.
  8. It’s possible to adopt things from my travels that I love into my daily life.
  9. I’d rather be seen as a traveller than as a tourist.
  10. My travel bug is not ever satiated. And I don’t think I mind.

      1. Gosh that’s a hard one! Each place has its own charm. This summer, my husband and I are doing a big Euro road trip so I will get to add long-time bucket list countries to my passport! France, Germany, Belgium… so excited!!

        1. Just fishing for cool destinations to put on my ever so long list, haha!
And that is so cool to be doing such a big Euro trip! Great countries to visit as well. In Belgium, I highly recommend Ghent. It’s such a lovely city! 🙂

          1. Ooooh noted! Thanks for the tip. For your travel list I might suggest Southern Utah if you’re ever in the US. Five beautiful National Parks and lovely red rock formations everywhere. Moab is also a fantastic town.

            1. You’re welcome! And Southern Utah noted on my list, haha. Thanks for the tip! I’ve seen some gorgeous photos from that area so it seems like a ‘do not miss this’ kind of thing 😉

  1. You nailed it with the ‘no rush in the mountains’! My favorite place to be – be it sunrise or sunset- or a campfire- or a great hike… Enjoyed.

    1. Thanks! Mountains are just something special, aren’t they? I wish we had mountains over here. Instead, I seek them out as much as I can when I travel.

Not pushy at all, I appreciate the invite and will have a look at the site 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!

    1. I know right? Once I’m back into the rhythm of daily life I tend to think I don’t really need to travel all that much. Ha, once I’m out travelling again, that thought goes away very quickly! 😀
