The gorgeous Matukituki River is a braided river in Mt. Aspiring N.P. on the South Island of New Zealand. One day last January, I did a jet boating tour in the morning and a 4WD tour in the afternoon (during which I took this photo). The area is stunning!! It was also one of my favourite days of these recent travels. Definitely going back here when I get the chance! Oh, and jet boating is heaps fun! 🙂

I see we were both thinking for rivers. 🙂 I like the braided stream for this week’s theme. So characteristic of rivers in glacial valleys.

Yes, indeed. 🙂 I love braided rivers so much. We don’t have them in the Netherlands so they are magical to me.

I’m familiar with them through visiting the Canadian Rockies. Especially, the Athabasca River.

If you’re looking for a future trek, why not google Banff National Park and/or Jasper National Park in Canadian Rockies? You will love it!

I’d love to get back there! I only had a short time in Banff N.P. about six years ago. My visit to beautiful Canada was way too short so I will definitely come back. I may also have fallen for Vancouver, haha!
