Like snow

Kindness is like snow. It beautifies everything it covers – Kahlil Gibran

I took this shot quite a few years ago when I was out on my lunch break (way back when I was in my old job). It was so nice to have a park nearby to soak up some fresh(ish) air, enjoy nice scenery and to stretch my legs. Walking on snow is a bit more challenging, especially when it’s packed down and has gotten a bit slippery! And let’s face it, Dutchies aren’t used to heavy packs of snow so at the first snowflake, the country (especially trains!) seem to get in a state of total frenzy! Oh boy… 😉

    1. Glad you like it! Good to know we’re not the only ones struggling with snow here! Although it seems to me that people in Sweden are generally more prepared for snow because it’s a lot more common than here. Our train tracks aren’t heated or anything (costs too much for irregular periods of frost and snow) so if it’s freezing, trains have a lot more trouble changing tracks to get where they need to go.

    1. It would! Never done anything like that, have you? We call it langlaufen, basically the German word (yes, I had to google ski de fond, haha!)

  1. I am inclined to agree with the quote, being a lover of wintery snowscapes! I don’t know so much about Khalil Gabran, so now I am inspired to go and research him. I have quoted him a couple of times before, so now I want to know more.
