Here are my answers to the questions

Why did you start blogging in the first place?
I started blogging as a way to have more New Zealand in my life. I love this country but since it’s on the other side of the world, it’s not easy for me to get to all that often. Writing about and sharing photos of this gorgeous country make it seem a little bit closer ❤

What is your favourite book?
I used to read a lot as a kid, like a lot. Mandatory reading in high school kind of killed my reading buzz, and I admit that I hardly ever read these days. I love the Harry Potter books, I seriously devoured those. Just one more chapter…Other books that I love are The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams, and Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach/Russell Munson.

What do you dislike the most?
What I really dislike is dishonesty, insincerity, fakeness, people kicking others down to feel better themselves.

What is your favourite food at the mall?
I rarely eat at a mall. If I’m really hungry, I just get a bread roll. If I’m out with someone, I might go for lunch or something sweet, whatever we feel like at the time. But I’m eating healthy now (as a better lifestyle choice and to lose weight), and I’d rather prepare food myself so I know exactly what’s in it. Without going to extremes, ‘cos nobody got time for that!

What is your favourite pastime?
Apart from the perhaps predictable answer ‘blogging’, I love being creative, whether it’d be paper crafts, creative journalling, mixed media, or room decor. I have what seems like half a craft store in my apartment! I also love customising Funko Pops. Yeah, my collection of Funko Pops may have exploded sort of, somewhat. No, I don’t have a problem 😛

And my nominees are…

I’m excited to read your answers to the questions, but please feel in no way obligated to participate if you don’t want to. I just really like your blogs and wanted to show my appreciation 🙂

    1. Thank you!

Yes, it absolutely is! I can’t wait to go back but it probably won’t be for a few years.

What’s it like travelling NZ in winter time? I have no idea but I’m curious to know 😉

  2. It was VERY cold and rained a fair bit, but it did mean that we were greeted with amazing snow capped mountains and could try out hands at skiing. We also visited Doubtful Sound which was just stunning with waterfalls and snow!

That’s the only time I’ve been there so can’t really compare it, but I guess it might be slightly quieter during the winter months (and less mosquitoes??).

It didn’t really stop us doing anything either, we tried to see and do as must as possible (and I think we managed it!) – we even swam with the dolphins in Kaikoura which nearly gave me hypothermia, but it was so worth it! 🙂

    1. Sounds like an absolutely epic adventure! Photos from a winter NZ landscape do look incredible!

So far, I’ve only been in summer and early Autumn. Would be great to experience the other seasons too, but I haven’t been wanting to give up my northern hemisphere summer for a second winter! 😛

      1. It was, we were really lucky! Haha, I know what you mean about going away to experience another winter – we get enough cold weather in the UK!! We didn’t really have a choice of when we visited, we were in that part of the world at that time of year so it just fitted in with our travelling plans. What’s it like in summer? Do they have sizzling weather?

        1. Exactly! Rather go to NZ in the winter than not at all 😉

It’s nice and yes it can be hot, but the weather can still be very changeable. And I find it different when it’s a dry heat, as opposed to the humidity we so quickly get in the Netherlands. Four seasons in one day is not uncommon in NZ. Northern part of the South Island is usually quite sunny, while summer temperatures on Stewart Island are often 18C or below. And when the southerly winds hit NZ it gets chilly for sure as those winds come from Antarctica!
