Happy New Year and best wishes for 2015! I’m always a bit shocked when I realise the 90s were not just a few years ago (ouch). Time hasn’t stopped running and bam, 2015 is here! About time too that 2014 is over, I’m ready for a change!
It was today a year ago that I published my first post. The response I’ve gotten on my blog this year has exceeded all my expectations. I’m not even sure I had any expectations or that I can speak of expectations. Sure, I had hopes. I like ‘hoping’ a lot better, because I enjoy blogging and I can only hope to ‘infect’ (haha) and affect people in some good way. That’s the spirit of my blog and I like it that way. 🙂
Last year…
I published 100 posts (lol, what?). My first post was Happy New Year. I stick by what I wrote back then: writing about New Zealand makes me happy! My most recent post is: Yarra Valley. No real reason why I chose that particular photo to post as the last one of 2014, it just turned out that way. My most liked posts are Pancake Rocks and Promise of a beautiful day. Twentythree likes, woah! 🙂 My least liked post is A beautiful world. I think my timing with that post was wrong. I’m so proud of it and couldn’t wait to share those amazing experiences, so please give it some love? Oh, and I actually have followers. Wow guys, THANK YOU! Maybe I should have replied to each follower, like those blogging 101 thingies advise, but I didn’t. Please know that I am super happy for each and every person (pets allowed!) that follows my blog! Lastly, I bought a domain and changed my blog from ‘TravelSan’ to ‘Alive and Trekking’. I so happy with this change and feel that the new domain is much more ‘me’, 🙂
Next year…
I’ll have some travelling ahead of me! And yes, it’s going to be amazing, so stay tuned! I hope to post many more photos and share many more travel stories! I also hope to explore exciting new blogs! I love a good blog with travel things, outdoorsy stuff, nature and photography, so if you have any recommendations, please let me know? For the rest…I honestly have no idea what next year will bring, so I’ll make it up as I go along. 😉
Alive and Trekking 
Congratulations on your first blog-iversary, San 😀 I have really enjoyed ‘travelling’ with you, seeing your photos and learning about new places. As well as some of your wonderful New Zealand landscapes, I think the two posts I particularly remember were the Yellow-eyed penguins (lovely 🙂 ) and the rope bridges (Yikes!) 😀 I will look forward to more armchair travelling with you in the coming year 🙂
